Contemplative day

Today is one of those days where you sit and think about all of the things you could have, should have, would have and already have done in life. These things for me are; Having gone to college and having had a great career path in which I am highly successful. I could have had a life plan that would have made me happy to be where I am in life right now and lastly, I now have had an incredible marriage to the best man a woman could hope for, and children that I not only love, but truly like as people.
You never know how your life will turn out when you are young and full of hope. But if you take the steps to make yourself at least available to successes, such as higher education, you can never pigeon hole yourself into a corner that you cannot find your way out of.
I have to say that there are things that I would absolutly change, and things that I would never comtemplate changing. But I was reminded by my daughter that one small change can actually change the enitre course of what already is. So be careful what you wish for, it just might come true.

Modern day witchhunt

I understand the need to have a more aggresive approach to people that may cause harm to others, as in the case of Cho Seung-Hui. If we as a society are not careful though, we could be setting ourselves up for the next Salem witch hunts. I have already heard that two student at two different colleges have been arrested due to their opinions of what happened at Virginia Tech. I also understand that a young guy, looking to get a rise out of a class full of peers, might just say something, thinking he is funny, which he is not, or thinking he might impress someone with his "bad boy" attitude. We have to be really careful and not get out of control with our accusations. That being said, we all need to be equally aware of those around us, and maybe talk to someone who we would usually not pay any attention to. Add a friendly hello to someone you might usually ignore, and remember we are all neigbors, even if we don't want to be.
